License
Serein is licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA). These terms add to it; where they conflict, the Standard EULA controls for App Store matters.
What Serein does
Serein helps you lock distracting apps using Apple's Screen Time technology. iOS enforces the locks on your device. Blocks set to Strict are deliberately hard to get around: while one is running, it can't be edited, switched off or unlocked early. By choosing Strict you accept that the app will refuse to lift those locks early. Delete protection, when on, stops Serein being deleted while a session or strict block is running.
Subscriptions
- Serein requires an active subscription, billed through your Apple Account.
- Free trials, where offered, turn into a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them in your Apple Account settings. Apple handles refunds under its own policies.
- If your subscription ends, blocking stops so you're never locked out of your own apps. Your data on the phone isn't deleted, and blocking resumes when you subscribe again.
Friends
If you use Friends, don't use your name or group to harass anyone. We may remove groups or accounts that do. Your first name and weekly study totals are visible to the members of your group.
Fair use
Don't use the app to get around parental controls or device management you're subject to, and don't reverse engineer it except where the law allows regardless of this term.
No guarantees
Serein is a tool for your own commitments. Blocking depends on Apple's Screen Time frameworks and on Screen Time access staying on; iOS, not Serein, enforces the locks. The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. Nothing in the app is medical or psychological advice.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Solvoto isn't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim won't exceed the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes
We may update these terms. The current version is always at this address. Using the app after an update means you accept the new terms.
